Fairmont to open its First Resort in Baja, California Sur

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, a world-leading luxury hotel brand within the Accor hospitality group, is expanding into Baja California Sur and its capital city La Paz with Fairmont La Paz Puerta Cortés Resort and Residences. The property is scheduled for 2023 with 61 Rooms

Fairmont is one of the first luxury hotel brands to announce development in La Paz, which is emerging as one of the most desirable resort locales in Mexico. The destination’s old-world charm and stunning location along the Sea of Cortés makes it a natural fit for the Fairmont brand. Fairmont La Paz Puerta Cortés Resort and Residences will be located within the exclusive Puerta Cortés resort community which is set on 550 acres of environmentally protected coastal lands and includes access to luxury amenities including a world-class marina and Mexico’s only Gary Player Signature Course – El Cortés Golf Club.

With more than 80 locations around the globe, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is known for its discerning service and portfolio of magnificent destinations that connect travelers to the heart of each city and community. Fairmont La Paz Puerta Cortés will be no different, introducing a stunning beachfront retreat for leisure and business travelers. The resort will feature 155 guest rooms and 24 suites, with select accommodations equipped with plunge pools; four food and beverage outlets, including several beachfront dining venues; three outdoor pools; and a Wellness Village that includes a luxurious spa and various fitness offerings. Meetings and groups will have access to more than 13,000 square feet of event space equipped with the latest technology, while children and young adults can enjoy access to their own respective clubs that will offer a range of activities.

Fairmont La Paz Puerta Cortés will also include 61 one-to-four bedroom branded residences with private plunge pools. Owners will enjoy access to all resort amenities along with an exclusive owner’s lounge, media room, lush gardens and a serene oasis with a pool.

Master planning and architectural design of the resort is being led by global hospitality design firm Gensler, with support from studios in Mexico City and Costa Rica. Resort interiors, including the design of food and beverage outlets, are being crafted by New York City-based design studio Roman and Williams.
