“As historically famous as the Cantina La Fuente (Bicicleta Bar) in Guadajalara, The Giggling Marlin, the first bar – cantina in Los Cabos, celebrates its 36th anniversary in November. Established in 1984, it was the only bar and the main attraction as an action spot for visitors by land and sea.
Gary Wagner (Goyo) was the Giggling Marlin founder with a vision and passion for the Baja. Over 400 other bars have followed his lead in the Cabo San Lucas area.
The Giggling Marlin remains the iconic tourist spot with its colorful décor and hand-painted signs and fish by John Lara. The tables are turned on bar patrons where they are hung upside down on the scale next to a Marlin holding a pole boasting his catch of the day.
The vibe starts early in the morning with regulars arriving for a variety of Mexican-style breakfast options, including favorites Huevos Rancheros, Omelets, or a Jason’s Burrito, along with the first beer of the day.
By mid-morning large and small boat guests arrive in groups and the friendly staff, many of whom have been loyal to the Giggling Marlin, are there to welcome and greet each new guest.
By evening the adult comedy theme shows attract a diverse audience of young and old, newlyweds, anniversary celebrations, families and friends, single men and women altogether for beers and shots of tequila, music and an enjoyable night with impromptu entertainment.
The Giggling Marlin offers you a wonderful evening to remember and return again and again.
A souvenir shop with a motley collection of Giggling Marlin items from sexy ladies shirts, tee shirts, caps, and shot glasses are great mementos to savior your visit to the Giggling Marlin

During this past year of 2020, The heart and soul of the Giggling Marlin was on display as a weekly process of food and supplies were distributed to the employees and families of the Giggling Marlin. Goyo showed that his loyal staff needed some love and living supplies in return; during those dark days from March to July, when the cancelation of inbound flights and cruise ships brought the entire Los Cabos destination to a halt.
