Southwest to resume flights

Southwest to resume flights

As many of you know, we halted international service on March 23 after border closures and quarantine restrictions were enacted by many countries in response to COVID-19. Previously, we shared two of our international Stations would resume service on May 21, followed by three more reintroductions on June 7. Now, instead of being staggered, service to Cancun, MexicoSan Jose del Cabo/Los Cabos, MexicoHavana, Cuba; Montego Bay, Jamaica; and Nassau, Bahamas is planned to return on June 7.

So, to help welcome the summer months, on June 7 we once again get the opportunity to meet our Customers’ international travel needs by resuming service from Houston Hobby to Cancun, Mexico, and San Jose del Cabo/Los Cabos, Mexico; from Baltimore/Washington to Cancun, Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Nassau, Bahamas; from Denver to Cancun, Mexico, and San Jose del Cabo/Los Cabos, Mexico; from Orlando to Montego Bay, Jamaica; and from Tampa to Havana, Cuba. These markets will continue to operate through our summer and fall schedules.

In addition to these international restarts, Phoenix international is still set to launch on October 8 with service to San Jose del Cabo/Los Cabos, Mexico, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

All other Southwest international Stations not mentioned above will remain suspended at least through October 30. This will be reflected in the schedule publication this week. Some uncertainty also remains around the return of international demand in the fall, which is why the operating timeline for the rest of international is still being determined. However, as future schedules are developed, we will continue to evaluate options for resuming all international destinations and keep you informed
